Terms of Use

Effective date: 1 September 2026

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the operator of Kordmate. Kordmate is currently operated by Freddy Konrad, a private individual based in Sweden, under the name Kordmate (“we”, “us”). Kordmate is the name of the service and is not itself a registered company.

By using Kordmate you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Terms of Payment also apply when you use Kordmate. Questions about these Terms can be sent through the Contact page or to support@kordmate.com.

2. The service

Kordmate is a web-based workspace for planning, visualizing and documenting equipment setups. On the Canvas you can place Devices, Signals, Outlets and Power Supplies, connect them with Cables through their IOs, add notes and measurements, and organize your work into Scenes. Registered users can also save Scenes to their account, create reusable Device templates, export Scenes as PDF or image files, and share read-only Snapshots of a Scene through a public link.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. When you create an account you must provide a valid email address, or log in with Google. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Contact us through the Contact page or at support@kordmate.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Several people must not share one login. If you need to share Scenes with a team, that is what Business+ is for; we arrange it separately (see section 14).

4. Guest use and registered accounts

You can use the Canvas without an account. In that case your work is stored only in your own browser and never reaches our servers — it can be lost if you clear your browser data or switch devices. Saving Scenes to your account, the Scene library, Device templates, exporting and Snapshot sharing all require an account.

5. Your content

You own the content you create in Kordmate: your Scenes, Device templates, notes, labels and the technical data you enter. So that we can run the service, you grant us the right to store, process, display and transmit that content as necessary to provide Kordmate to you and — only for Snapshots you have chosen to make public — to display that Snapshot to anyone who opens its link. We claim no other rights in your content.

You are responsible for the content you create and submit, including your diagrams, configurations and any instructions you base on them. Your content must not infringe anyone else's rights, and any technical information you enter is used at your own risk (see section 10).

6. Device templates

Device templates you create are private to your account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the specifications you enter into a template — Kordmate does not verify them.

7. Shared Snapshots

Sharing is off by default. If you make a Snapshot public, anyone who has the link can view it without logging in — including the Scene name, any note you attach, and the full contents of the Scene. Your name and email address are not shown. You are responsible for what you choose to share and for whom you give the link to. You can stop sharing a Snapshot or delete it at any time, after which the link no longer works. We may disable public Snapshots that violate these Terms.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Kordmate for unlawful purposes or to store or share unlawful content;
  • attempt to access other users' accounts or data;
  • interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure, or attempt to bypass security or access restrictions;
  • use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download the service;
  • share your login with other people, or let them use your account; or
  • present material created in Kordmate as verified or approved engineering documentation when it is not.

9. Our intellectual property

The Kordmate software, its design, and the Kordmate name and logo belong to the operator of Kordmate. These Terms give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service. They do not transfer any ownership of the software or branding to you.

That right depends on your plan:

  • If you use Kordmate as a guest, or on the Standard plan, you may use the service for personal, non-commercial purposes only — hobby, home and private projects.
  • Commercial use of the service — including use for a company, organization, client work or other paid or professional work — is permitted only while you have an active Business or Business+ plan.

Business+ is the same kind of commercial license, arranged separately rather than purchased through Stripe Checkout. If your Business or Business+ plan ends, and any remaining paid period has run out, your right to use the service reverts to personal, non-commercial use (the Standard plan).

Your Scenes and other content remain yours (section 5). This section only limits how you may use the service, not who owns what you create.

10. Safety, real-world use and disclaimer of liability

Kordmate is a planning, visualization and documentation tool only. It is not a substitute for professional engineering, electrical, technical or safety verification, and it must not be relied on as a safety system or as an authoritative technical validation tool.

Kordmate may contain software bugs, inaccurate calculations or incomplete technical assumptions, and its logic may permit configurations that look valid but are unsafe or incorrect. It also depends on data entered by users, which may itself be wrong.

Before implementing any plan created in or assisted by Kordmate in the real world, you must independently verify all connections, wiring, voltages, current requirements, power capacities, connector compatibility, signal routing, equipment specifications and all other technical information — using the equipment manufacturers' documentation and, where appropriate, qualified professionals.

Real-world implementation of any diagram, calculation, route, template, recommendation or configuration from Kordmate is undertaken at your own responsibility.

11. Limitation of liability

Kordmate is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of, reliance on, or inability to use Kordmate — including equipment damage, electrical faults, power failures, fire, property damage, data loss, business interruption, personal injury, death, or other direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss resulting from incorrect connections, incorrect calculations, software defects, inaccurate information or real-world implementation of anything created in Kordmate.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability under mandatory Swedish or EU consumer protection law or liability for damage caused by intent or gross negligence. If you use Kordmate as a consumer, these Terms do not restrict your statutory rights.

12. Availability and changes to the service

Kordmate is an early-stage service. We do not guarantee that it will always be available or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue features — or the service as a whole — at any time. If we permanently shut down the service, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users in advance so that you can export or copy your work.

13. Your data and your own copies

You are responsible for keeping your own copies of any Scenes, exports or other material you need. Registered users can export Scenes as PDF or image files at any time. We do not guarantee backups of your content.

14. Plans and fees

Kordmate has three plans: Standard, Business and Business+. Standard is currently free of charge during the beta. Business is a paid annual subscription purchased on the Pricing page. Business+ is priced separately for companies and organizations that need to share Scenes — use the Contact page or email support@kordmate.com. Current prices are shown on the Pricing page before you are asked to pay.

The commercial license that comes with Business and Business+ is described in section 9. Prices, how Stripe Checkout works, tax, currency conversion, renewal, cancellation, failed payments and refunds are set out in the Terms of Payment.

If you delete your account while a Business or Business+ subscription is active, the subscription is cancelled immediately and any remaining paid time is not refunded.

15. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Kordmate at any time. You can delete your account yourself on the Account page — we first ask you to confirm your password, or, if you log in with Google, to log in with Google again. Deleting your account cancels any active Business or Business+ subscription immediately, without a refund of remaining paid time (see section 14). If you need help, use the Contact page or email support@kordmate.com. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these Terms — for example through unlawful content or attempts to compromise the service — where reasonably possible after contacting you first.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves, for example when new features are added. The current version, with its effective date, is always published on this page. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to inform registered users. If you continue to use Kordmate after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply.

17. Governing law, disputes and contact

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes are resolved by the Swedish courts, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you always keep the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence. Consumers in Sweden can also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se).

If you have a problem, please contact us first through the Contact page or at support@kordmate.com — most issues can be resolved directly.
